GOLIATH'S FOE IS OUT OF (RUFFLED STRAWBERRY PARFAIT X UKN) AND WAS ORIGINALLY GARDEN NAMED 'GOLIATH' FOR HIS STRENGTH AND VIGOR. 'HE' IS A DEEP RADISH RED WITH A LARGE ROUND WHITE 3'5"WATERMARK, FAT SEPALS AND SMATTERINGS OF IVORY TEETH. HE BLOOMED IN ONE YEAR FROM FIELD GROWN SEED. THIS PHOTO WAS TAKEN THIS SUMMER (3RD YR OF DROUGHT) AND DOESN'T GIVE A GOOD REPRESENTATION OF WHAT GOLIATH'S FOE IS ALL ABOUT. BUT AT LEAST HE SURRVIVED THE DIVISIONS AND LINE OUT WHICH PROVED TO BE VERY DIFFICULT ON SOME OF MY OTHER INTROS. I THINK YOU WILL LIKE HIS CHILDREN WHICH HAVE ATTAINED HIS VIGOR, EVEN AS FIRST YEAR SEEDLINGS DESPITE THE ONGOING DROUGHT!
STATS: 36" X 5.5"
5-7 way branching
extra thick 1/2" scapes
FERTILE BOTH WAYS and great parent!
PIZZA CRUST X GOLIATH'S FOE showing beginning of red/purple teeth .love the deep purple contrast with the vivid green throat!
'Candy Stripe' is the garden name we gave this sdlg because of how it reminded me of the sweet Candy Stripers that were nurse's aids with there red and white uniforms when I was in need.
I love the versatility of GOLIATH'S FOE! Here is a soft pink with a large lemon watermark and another vivid green throat. First yr sdlg
an unusual two-toned rose and purple first yr sdlg..so looking forward toward its maturity! Note the huge yellow watermark, surrounded by a purple eye and matching edge.
